Bus

From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Line to Marutamachi Station. Transfer to bus number 204 from the bus stop near Marutamachi Station. Ride the bus for approximately 15 minutes and get off at 'Shimogamo Jinja-mae' bus stop. From there, Kawai Shrine is just a short 5-minute walk. Head north on the main road, and you'll see the shrine on your left after crossing the river.
Train and Walk

From Kyoto Station, take the JR Nara Line to Tofukuji Station. Change to the Keihan Main Line and travel to Demachiyanagi Station. Once you arrive, exit the station and head north along the Kamo River for about 20 minutes. You'll reach Kawai Shrine by turning left onto Shimogamo Izumikawacho street, where the shrine is located at number 59.
Bicycle

Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops around Kyoto. Head towards the Kamo River and follow the riverbank north. Continue cycling for about 30 minutes until you reach the area near Shimogamo Shrine.
