Getting There

  • Walking

    From Nara Park, head north towards the Nara National Museum. Once you reach the museum, turn left onto Sanjo-dori Street and continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the Kintetsu Nara Station. From there, take the Kintetsu Limited Express to Kyoto Station. Once at Kyoto Station, transfer to the Karasuma Subway Line and get off at Marutamachi Station. Exit the station and walk north on Karasuma Street for about 1 kilometer until you reach the Kyoto Imperial Palace.

    Start at Nara Station and take the JR Nara Line to Kyoto Station. Once you arrive at Kyoto Station, transfer to the Karasuma Subway Line and take the train to Marutamachi Station. After exiting the station, walk north on Karasuma Street for approximately 1 kilometer. The Kyoto Imperial Palace will be on your left, located within the Kyoto Gyoen National Garden.
