Getting There

  • Subway

    If you are near Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Line subway and head north towards Kokusai Kaikan Station. Get off at Marutamachi Station (approximately 12 minutes). Once you exit the station, head east towards Karasuma Street. Continue straight for about 15 minutes, and you will reach the northern entrance of Kyoto Gyoen National Garden.

    From Kyoto Station, board the City Bus #101 or #205, which both head in the direction of the city center. Travel for about 10-15 minutes and get off at 'Kyoto Gyoenmae' bus stop. The entrance to Kyoto Gyoen National Garden is just a short walk from the bus stop; head east along the street, and you will find the entrance on your left.

    If you are staying in the downtown area (around Shijo or Kawaramachi), you can walk to Kyoto Gyoen National Garden. Head north on Kawaramachi Street until you reach the intersection with Oike Street. Turn left on Oike Street and continue until you reach the entrance to the garden on your right.
