Public Transport - Bus
From Nara Station, take the Nara Kotsu bus bound for Kasuga Taisha. The journey takes about 15 minutes. Get off at the Kasuga Taisha bus stop. From there, follow the signs leading to Kasuga Taisha Shrine, which is a short walk away.
Walking
Once you reach the Kasuga Taisha Shrine, you will see the entrance to the Mt. Kasuga Primeval Forest. The entrance is located just behind the shrine. Follow the marked trails through the forest, which will lead you deeper into the beautiful natural scenery. Be sure to take your time and enjoy the sights along the way.
Combination - Bus and Walking
Alternatively, from Nara Park (which is adjacent to Nara Station), you can also take a pleasant walk to the forest. Walk towards Todai-ji Temple; from there, head towards the Kasuga Taisha Shrine. This walk takes approximately 30 minutes and allows you to enjoy the deer in Nara Park and the serene atmosphere.
