Car
If you are driving, start from the center of Omi. Head north on Route 292 toward Nakano. Continue for about 15 km until you reach the intersection with Route 18. Turn left onto Route 18 and follow it for approximately 5 km. Look for signs indicating Akaiwa; you will need to turn right onto a smaller road leading to Akaiwa. The Kokugonji Temple will be on your left at 332 Akaiwa, Nakano, Nagano 383-0004. There is parking available near the temple.
Public Transportation
To reach Kokugonji Temple by public transport, start at Omi Station. Take the train on the Nagano Line towards Nagano and get off at Nakano Station. The journey takes about 20 minutes. From Nakano Station, exit the station and head to the bus terminal. Look for a local bus heading towards Akaiwa; the bus ride will take around 10 minutes. Get off at the Akaiwa bus stop, and from there, it’s a short 5-minute walk to the temple, which will be on your left at 332 Akaiwa, Nakano, Nagano 383-0004.
