Kanosuke Distillery, established in 2017 by Komasa Jyozo, is a rising star in Japanese whisky. Located on Kagoshima's west coast, overlooking the East China Sea, it offers tours and tastings, showcasing its unique whisky-making process rooted in shochu traditions.

Car
From Kagoshima Airport, the Kanosuke Distillery is approximately a 1-hour drive. Take the expressway from Kagoshima city, which takes about 35 minutes, or general roads for about 45 minutes. From Kagoshima-Chuo Station, it's about a 20-minute train ride on the JR Kagoshima Main Line to Ijuin Station, followed by a 15-minute car ride to the distillery. Parking is available at the distillery. Car rentals are available near Kagoshima Airport and Kagoshima-Chuo station. Expect to pay around ¥6,000 - ¥7,500 for a taxi from Kagoshima-Chuo Station.
Public Transport
From Kagoshima-Chuo Station, take the JR Kagoshima Main Line to Ijuin Station. The train journey is approximately 18 minutes and departs every 30 minutes. From Ijuin Station, take a taxi to Kanosuke Distillery, which is about a 15-minute ride. Train fare is around ¥290 - ¥430. Taxi fare from Ijuin Station to the distillery will be additional. The Hiokichigo shared shuttle service between bus stops is also an option.
