Car
If you're traveling by car, start on the Tokushima Expressway (Tokushima Toll Road) if you're coming from Tokushima City. Take the exit for Miyoshi and follow Route 192 towards Miyoshi. Continue on Route 192 for about 30 km. Once you reach the vicinity of Mount Tsurugi, look for signs directing you to the mountain. The parking area is located at the foot of the mountain. Please note that parking may incur a fee, so be prepared with some cash.

Public Transportation
To reach Mount Tsurugi using public transportation, take a train from Tokushima Station to Awa-Ikeda Station on the Tokushima Line. The journey takes around 30 minutes. From Awa-Ikeda Station, you can take a local bus towards Mount Tsurugi. The bus ride will take approximately 40 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as services may be limited, especially on weekends and holidays. The bus will drop you off near the entrance to the hiking trails.

Once at the foot of Mount Tsurugi, there are several hiking trails available. The main trail to the summit is well-marked and takes about 2 to 3 hours to ascend. Ensure you have proper hiking gear, water, and snacks. Be aware of the time as the trails can become challenging in the afternoon. If you are not an experienced hiker, consider hiring a local guide for your trek.
