Car

If you're traveling by car from Tosa, take National Route 56 heading north towards Kochi City. Follow Route 56 until you reach the junction with Route 1, where you'll merge onto Route 1 heading towards Hakone. Stay on Route 1 for approximately 2 hours until you reach Hakone. Once in Hakone, follow signs for Motohakone. As you approach the area, you'll see signs for Hakone Shrine. The first Torii Gate is located near the entrance of the shrine complex. Note that parking is available nearby, and fees may apply (approximately 500-1000 JPY).
Public Transportation

To reach Hakone Shrine's 1st Torii Gate via public transportation, start at Tosa Station. Take a train on the JR Shikoku line towards Kochi City. At Kochi Station, transfer to the JR Tokaido line heading towards Odawara. You will need to change trains at Odawara Station to the Hakone Tozan Railway. Ride the train to Hakone-Yumoto Station. From there, take the Hakone Tozan Bus (Line 2) towards Moto-Hakone. Get off at the Moto-Hakone stop. The Torii Gate is a short walk from the bus stop, and you will see it as you approach the shrine.
