Car
If you're driving from Tosa, take the Kochi Expressway (Kochi-eki) northbound towards Nara. After about 2 hours, take the exit toward Nara and merge onto the Nara Bypass (Nara-jo). Follow the signs for Tōdai-ji, which is located in Nara Park. There is parking available near the entrance; expect to pay around 500 yen for parking.

To reach Tōdai-ji via public transportation, start by taking a local train from Tosa Station to Nara Station. The journey may require a transfer at Okayama or Osaka, depending on your route. Once you arrive at Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Kintetsu Nara Station. From there, it's about a 20-minute walk to Tōdai-ji. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Kintetsu Nara Station (Bus No. 70 or 97) that goes directly to Tōdai-ji. The bus fare is approximately 210 yen.
