Getting There

Walking
From the Petra Visitor Center, exit and head straight towards the main entrance of the archaeological site. Once you enter, continue walking along the main trail for about 1 km until you reach the Siq, a narrow gorge. Walk through the Siq, which should take around 20-30 minutes. As you exit the Siq, you will see the Treasury (Al-Khazneh) on your right. Continue straight past the Treasury, following the signs for the Obelisk Tomb. The Obelisk Tomb & Bab as-Siq Triclinium is approximately a 15-minute walk from the Treasury. You will see the Obelisk Tomb on your left after climbing a few steps.

Guided Tour
Join a guided tour which can be arranged at the Petra Visitor Center. The tour guides will lead you through the archaeological site, including the Siq, the Treasury, and the Obelisk Tomb. This is a great option if you want more context and history during your visit. The tours usually last about 2-3 hours and will provide detailed insights into the significance of the Obelisk Tomb and its surroundings.

Horse Ride
At the Petra Visitor Center, you can also hire a horse to take you closer to the Obelisk Tomb. The horse ride will take you about halfway along the main trail, after which you will need to dismount and continue walking. The ride will save you some energy, but be prepared to walk the last 15-20 minutes to reach the Obelisk Tomb.
