Getting There

Walking
Start your journey at the Petra Visitor Center. Exit the center and head straight towards the Siq, the narrow gorge that leads into Petra. Walk through the Siq, which takes about 20 minutes, and enjoy the stunning rock formations and ancient carvings along the way. At the end of the Siq, you will reach the magnificent Treasury (Al-Khazneh). Take a moment to admire it before continuing your journey. From the Treasury, turn left and head towards the main path that leads deeper into the site. Follow the path for about 10 minutes until you reach the Roman Theater on your right. Continue past the theater and keep walking straight for another 15-20 minutes, passing by various tombs and ruins. You will eventually see the Royal Tombs on your left, marked by their impressive facades carved into the rock.
