Getting There

Walking
From Wadi Rum Village, head towards the main entrance of Wadi Rum Protected Area. As you walk, follow the signs towards 'Um Frouth'. The path will lead you through the desert landscape. Keep an eye out for the distinctive red sand and rock formations. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the junction where you can see a dirt road leading in the direction of Um Frouth Rock Arch. Turn left onto this dirt path.

Continue walking along the dirt path for another 1 kilometer. You will pass by several large rock formations and the terrain may include some rocky areas, so wear sturdy shoes. Look for signs or local guides who may be around to help direct you. The path will gradually take you closer to the arch.

Once you reach the base of the Um Frouth Rock Arch, you will need to climb a bit to get a better view of the arch itself. The climb is relatively easy but may require some careful footing on the rocks. The arch is located at approximately latitude 29.4688 and longitude 35.4492, so keep this in mind if you have a GPS device.

After enjoying the view from the arch, you can either retrace your steps back to Wadi Rum Village or explore the surrounding area. Be sure to take plenty of water and sun protection as you make your way back.
