Getting There

  • Walking

    From downtown Lawrence, head east on Massachusetts Street towards 11th Street. Continue straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with 11th Street. Turn left onto 11th Street and walk for about 5 minutes until you reach the intersection with Kentucky Street. Turn right onto Kentucky Street and continue until you reach the bus stop at 15th and Kentucky. From there, you can take the Lawrence Transit bus (Route 1 or Route 2) heading towards the University of Kansas. Get off at the stop near the Kansas Union. Walk towards the north side of the Union and follow the signs towards the Lawrence campus.

  • Public Transportation

    Catch the Lawrence Transit bus from any bus stop in downtown Lawrence. Look for the number 1 or 2 bus which goes towards the University of Kansas. Board the bus and stay on for approximately 15 minutes, getting off at the stop nearest to the Kansas Union. After exiting the bus, walk north towards the campus and follow the signs to reach the Longfellow House, which is located off of Brattle Street.

    If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops downtown. Start by heading east on Massachusetts Street, then turn left on 11th Street. Continue biking straight until you reach Kentucky Street, where you will turn right. Follow Kentucky Street until you reach the bus stop at 15th and Kentucky. From here, you can take a bike-friendly route towards the Kansas Union, which will lead you to the Longfellow House located at 105 Brattle Street.
