Getting There

  • Car

    If you have access to a car, start your journey from the nearest town, which could be either Mtito Andei or Amboseli. From Mtito Andei, head southwest on the A109 highway for about 30 km until you reach the junction for the road leading to Chyulu Hills. Turn left onto the road marked for Chyulu Hills and continue for approximately 20 km. You will eventually reach a fork in the road; take the right fork and follow the signs leading to Manjaro Tented Camp, which is located at 795H+CJ9, Unnamed Road, Ol Tukai. The drive will take around 1-1.5 hours depending on road conditions. Parking is available at the camp.

  • Public Transportation

    For those relying on public transportation, take a matatu (local minibus) from either Mtito Andei or Amboseli towards Chyulu Hills. Ensure you ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Chyulu Hills, which is usually at the main junction. From there, you may need to hire a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) for the last 10 km to reach Manjaro Tented Camp. The cost for the matatu ride is approximately 200-400 KES, and the boda boda ride may cost around 500-800 KES depending on your negotiation skills and the distance.
