Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Nanyuki Town. Head towards the Nanyuki airstrip and follow the signs towards Mount Kenya National Park. After approximately 20 km, you will reach the entrance to the park. Pay the park entrance fee at the gate (cost varies, check current rates). After entering, follow the main road through the park, keeping an eye out for the signs directing you to Mawingu Outpost. The outpost is located about 6 km from the main park road, and you will need to navigate some rough terrain, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.

Public Transportation
Using public transport, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Nanyuki Town heading to the Mount Kenya National Park entrance. Once you reach the park entrance, you will need to hire a taxi or arrange for a local guide to take you to Mawingu Outpost, as public transport does not go further into the park. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which can cost around 2000-3000 KES depending on the distance and vehicle condition.
