After approximately 100 kilometers, take the exit towards Nyeri on the A2 highway. Continue on the A2 for about 40 kilometers until you reach Chinga Dam, which is located just off the main road. Look for signs pointing to Chinga Dam as you approach the area. Ensure you have a GPS or map app for navigation, as the roads can be less marked.
Public Transportation
To reach Chinga Dam via public transportation, start by taking a matatu (shared taxi) from your location in North Eastern Province to Nyeri. This journey may take around 3-4 hours depending on your starting point. Once in Nyeri, locate the matatu station and take a matatu heading towards Chinga Dam or nearby towns. Inform the driver of your destination to ensure they drop you off at the nearest point to the dam. The fare for the matatu from Nyeri to Chinga Dam is approximately 200-300 KES.
