Getting There

Car
From Shaba National Reserve, head southeast on the main road towards the town of Meru. Continue driving for approximately 50 kilometers (about 1 hour) until you reach the junction near Maua. At the junction, turn left onto the road leading to Maua. Follow this road for around 15 kilometers. Look for the signs directing you to Meru National Park. Once you see the entrance to the park, ensure you have your entry fees ready, which is approximately 1,000 KES for non-residents.

Public Transportation
From Shaba National Reserve, you can take a matatu (shared taxi) from the nearest town to the reserve heading towards Maua. The fare is typically around 200 KES per person. The matatu will drop you off at the Maua junction. From there, you will need to take another matatu or a taxi to the entrance of Meru National Park, which may cost an additional 300 KES. Ensure to confirm with the driver that they will take you to the park entrance.
