Getting There

  • Car

    To reach South Island National Park from Suguta Valley by car, start by heading south on the main road leading to Kalokol. This route is often dusty and may require a 4x4 vehicle due to rough terrain. Continue on this road for approximately 50 kilometers until you reach the town of Kalokol. Once in Kalokol, follow the signs toward the South Island National Park, which is located just outside of town. The park entrance is marked and should be easy to find. Be cautious of wildlife on the road, especially near dusk.

  • Public Transportation

    If traveling by public transportation, you can take a matatu (shared taxi) from Suguta Valley to Kalokol. Look for a matatu heading towards Kalokol at the local matatu stage. The journey may take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on road conditions and stops. Once you arrive in Kalokol, you can hire a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) or a tuk-tuk to take you directly to the entrance of South Island National Park.
