If you're traveling by car, start by navigating to the center of Khammouane Province, which is typically around Thakhek. From Thakhek, head southeast on Route 13 towards the Mai Nam Pakan area. Continue on Route 13 for about 30 kilometers. Look for the signs indicating Khammuan Zoo; the entrance is located at JMW5+WQX, Mai Nam Pakan. Parking is available at the zoo, but be prepared for a small fee if applicable.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, first head to the Thakhek bus station. From there, take a bus heading towards Mai Nam Pakan. Ensure to confirm with the driver that they stop near Khammuan Zoo. The bus ride is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Once you arrive in Mai Nam Pakan, you may need to take a short tuk-tuk ride to the zoo, which should cost around 10,000 LAK.
