From the capital of Khammouane Province, Thakhek, take Route 12 heading east. Continue for approximately 60 kilometers until you reach the junction for Route 13. Turn right onto Route 13 and drive for another 25 kilometers. Look for signs indicating Xiangliab, which will guide you to Thafalang. The total journey should take around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. Make sure to have a map or GPS handy as some signs may not be in English.

Public Transportation (Bus)
From Thakhek, head to the local bus station and find a bus heading towards Savannakhet. Make sure to inform the driver or conductor that you wish to get off at the Xiangliab turnoff. The bus ride should take approximately 1 hour and cost around 30,000 LAK (approx. $3 USD). After reaching the turnoff, you may need to hire a tuk-tuk or a motorbike taxi for the last 10 kilometers to Thafalang, which should cost about 20,000 to 30,000 LAK (approx. $2-$3 USD).
