Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Thakhek. Head south on Route 12 (also known as Thakhek - Savannakhet Road) for approximately 15 kilometers. You will see signs for Tham Nong Pa Fa. Turn right onto the road marked for the cave and drive for about 3 kilometers until you reach the parking area. There may be a small parking fee of around 10,000 LAK.
Public Transportation
To reach Tham Nong Pa Fa using public transportation, go to the Thakhek bus station and look for a local bus or songthaew heading towards Nakhon Phanom. Inform the driver of your destination, Tham Nong Pa Fa, as they may not be familiar with the cave name. The fare should be around 20,000 LAK. After about 30 minutes, ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to the cave entrance. From that stop, you may need to walk approximately 1 kilometer to reach the cave.
Motorbike Rental
For a more adventurous option, consider renting a motorbike in Thakhek. Many rental shops are available, and the cost is typically around 80,000 LAK per day. From the rental shop, head south on Route 12 for about 15 kilometers, then turn right and follow the road for another 3 kilometers to the cave. Ensure you have a valid driver's license and wear a helmet for safety.
