After about 15 kilometers, turn onto Route 13 heading north. Follow the signs for Site 3, which will be about 20 kilometers ahead. Look for the coordinates 19.293022, 103.1504249 on your GPS for precise navigation.

  • Public Bus

    From Phonsavan, take a local bus heading towards the Plain of Jars. The bus station is located near the center of Phonsavan. The fare is approximately 20,000 LAK. Inform the driver that you are going to Site 3. The bus will drop you off at a junction near the site; from there, you may need to hire a tuk-tuk for the remaining 3 kilometers to reach the entrance of Site 3.

  • Tuk-tuk

    If you are already near Route 13 and need to cover the last few kilometers to Site 3, hiring a tuk-tuk is an ideal option. Tuk-tuks are available around the town center of Phonsavan or at local bus stops. Negotiate the fare which typically ranges from 30,000 to 50,000 LAK for a round trip, depending on your starting point.

  • Walking

    If you are already at the junction where the bus drops you off, you can walk the remaining distance to Plain of Jars Site 3. It is about a 3-kilometer walk through scenic countryside. Be prepared for some uneven terrain, and ensure you have comfortable walking shoes.
