Start from the center of Thakhek. Head west on Road 12, cycling towards the Thakhek Market. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Road 13. Take a left onto Road 13. Follow this road for approximately 9 kilometers until you reach the town of Ban Lao. Upon entering Ban Lao, look for signs directing you to Song Sa Waterfall. The waterfall is about 2 kilometers from the main road, so follow the local signs or ask a local for directions.

From Thakhek, rent a motorbike and head west on Road 12 towards Thakhek Market. After crossing the Mekong River, continue straight until you hit Road 13. Turn left onto Road 13 and keep going for about 9 kilometers until you reach Ban Lao. Once in Ban Lao, follow the signs to Song Sa Waterfall, which is about 2 kilometers off the main road. Be cautious as the roads may be unpaved in parts, and enjoy the scenery along the way.
