From Thakhek town center, head east on Khounboulom Road (Road No. 12). Continue for about 12 kilometers until you reach the turn-off for Route 8. Take a left onto Route 8 and follow it for approximately 20 kilometers. Look for signs directing you towards Xieng Liap Cave. After about 5 more kilometers, you will reach the entrance to the cave.

Start in the center of Thakhek and ride east on Khounboulom Road (Road No. 12). After 12 kilometers, turn left onto Route 8. Continue on Route 8 for about 20 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signage to Xieng Liap Cave and make a right turn where indicated. The cave entrance will be another 5 kilometers down this road.

It's about a 12-kilometer walk to the junction where you will turn left onto Route 8. From there, it’s a 20-kilometer trek along Route 8. Be prepared for a long walk, and consider taking a break at the various villages along the way. Look for signs directing you towards the cave during your walk. After about 5 more kilometers from the turn-off, you will arrive at Xieng Liap Cave.
