Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from anywhere in Teici Nature Reserve, start by heading southeast on the A7 highway. Continue on the A7 for approximately 30 kilometers. As you approach Ķekava Municipality, take the exit towards Daugmale Parish. Follow the signs for Daugmale and turn onto the local road leading to Daugmale hill fort. The hill fort is located at the coordinates (56.8314444, 24.3812501). There is no parking fee, and ample parking is available near the fort.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Daugmale hill fort via public transportation, you can take a bus from Rīga to Ķekava. Buses leave frequently from the Rīga bus station, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Ķekava, transfer to a local bus heading to Daugmale. The bus stop is near the center of Ķekava. After getting off at the Daugmale stop, it is a short 10-15 minute walk to the hill fort. Be sure to check the local bus schedules as they may vary on weekends and holidays. The cost for the bus from Rīga to Ķekava is approximately €1.50, and the local bus fare is around €0.80.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, cycling to Daugmale hill fort is a great option. From Teici Nature Reserve, take the scenic routes along local roads. Head towards the A7 highway and follow the same directions as for cars but stay on the designated cycling paths where available. The distance is around 25 kilometers and should take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to wear a helmet and carry water for your ride.
