    The Soviet Secret Bunker is located near Līgatne, approximately 70 km from Riga. From Līgatne's village center, cross the river and follow the road northeast towards Skaļupe. The bunker and Rehabilitation Center are signposted. Turn left and drive through the gate, parking near the Rehabilitation Centre's main reception. Parking is free. Be aware that parking might be limited.

Located nine meters beneath the Līgatne Rehabilitation Centre, this 2,000-square-meter underground bunker was constructed in the 1980s to protect Latvia's Communist elite in the event of a nuclear war. For over 30 years, the bunker's existence remained a secret, even to the employees and clients of the rehabilitation center above. The facility was designed to be completely self-sufficient, capable of supporting 250 people for up to three months. It features a protected workspace, a sanatorium-style sleeping block, security facilities, and a residential house for service staff. Inside, visitors can explore the authentic equipment and furnishings from the Soviet era, including an autonomous power plant, air purification systems, water and sewage equipment operating on submarine principles, and a telecommunications unit that ensured direct communication with the Kremlin. The bunker also houses a canteen serving typical Soviet-era meals, offering a literal taste of the past. Today, the Soviet Secret Bunker serves as a museum, offering guided tours that provide fascinating insights into Cold War history and Soviet life. Visitors can also participate in the reality game "Object X," assuming the roles of secret agents on a mission.
