Getting There

Car
From Afriski Mountain Resort, head southeast on the A1 road towards Mokhotlong. Continue on the A1 for about 40 km until you reach the junction with the R26. Turn left onto the R26 and follow the signs for the Katse Dam. After approximately 30 km, turn right onto Unnamed Road (this is the road leading to Katse Dam Botanical Gardens). Follow this road until you reach the gardens. Please note that a vehicle access fee may apply to enter the Katse Dam area.

Public Transportation
Start at Afriski Mountain Resort and take a local taxi or shuttle service heading towards Mokhotlong. You may need to change taxis in Mokhotlong to catch one that goes towards Katse Dam. Ensure you confirm with the driver that they will drop you off at the turn-off for the Unnamed Road leading to Katse Dam Botanical Gardens. From there, you might have to walk approximately 5 km to reach the gardens, as public transport does not go directly to the botanical gardens.
