Getting There

  • Walking

    The Fürstin-Gina-Weg is primarily accessed from Malbun. From the village center, follow signs towards the Bergbahnen Malbun (Malbun chairlifts). The trail can be started either by hiking up to the Sareis mountain station or by taking the chairlift. If hiking up, follow the marked path, keeping in mind that it's a steady climb. If taking the chairlift, purchase a ticket at the base. A round-trip ticket typically costs around CHF 25 for adults. Once at the Sareis mountain station, the Fürstin-Gina-Weg is well-signposted. Follow the signs towards Augstenberg and Pfälzerhütte.

  • Public Transport

    To reach Malbun by public transport, take bus number 21 from Vaduz. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. From the Malbun Zentrum bus stop, it's a short walk to the Bergbahnen Malbun (chairlifts), the starting point for the Fürstin-Gina-Weg. A single bus fare from Vaduz to Malbun costs around CHF 3. LIEmobil offers a free educational subscription that can be applied for online by students residing in Liechtenstein. During the summer, LIEmobil increases the number of trips between Vaduz and Malbun.

  • Car

    To reach Malbun by car, exit the A13 motorway at Sevelen/Vaduz and follow the mountain road towards Malbun. Malbun is approximately a 20-minute drive from Vaduz. In Malbun, there are several parking lots available, including at the Hochegg and Taeli chairlifts and at the Schneeflucht t-bar lift. Parking is generally free. However, during peak season or on weekends, parking spaces may be limited. If the parking lots in Malbun are full, there is additional parking available in Steg, with a shuttle bus service to Malbun. Motorhome parking is available at Parking lot "P2", with a reservation costing CHF 15 per night, plus a visitor's tax of CHF 1.50 per person per night.

From the Pfälzerhütte, a broader path leads down to Alp Gritsch, and then through a landscape of mountain pines and Swiss stone pines to Tälihöhi, before finally descending back into Malbun.
