Public Transport
From Vaduz, take the LIEmobil bus line 21 towards Malbun. The bus ride takes approximately 45 minutes to Malbun, Jöraboda. From the Malbun, Jöraboda bus stop, walk towards the center of Malbun and follow signs for the Bergbahnen Malbun (Malbun ski lifts). From there, you can either hike to Augstenberg or take the Sareis chairlift. Bus fare from Vaduz to Malbun is approximately CHF 3.00 - CHF 4.00.
Walking
From the center of Malbun, follow the signs towards Berggasthaus Sareis and Augstenberg. The trail begins with a steady ascent through alpine meadows and forests. The hike to the summit of Augstenberg from Malbun is a challenging but rewarding climb, taking approximately 3-4 hours. Alternatively, you can shorten the hike by taking the Sareis chairlift to Berggasthaus Sareis and then hiking to the summit. Note that the Sareis chairlift is out of service until July 31, 2025, and a replacement minibus service is available.
