Buchenegger Wasserfälle: A Natural Spectacle

Getting There

• Car

  Driving to Buchenegger Wasserfälle is possible, but parking directly at the waterfalls is no longer permitted. The road to the waterfalls is closed for vehicles. Visitors are advised to park at the Hündlebahn or Imbergbahn parking lots. From the Hündlebahn parking, follow the road to the former parking area near the falls (approximately a 50-minute walk). From there, it's a steep 15-20 minute walk down to the falls. Parking at Hündlebahn costs €5 for a day ticket.

• Public Transport

  You can reach Buchenegger Wasserfälle by bus from Oberstaufen. Take bus line 95 from Oberstaufen to the "Imbergbahn" stop (approximately a 2.8-kilometer walk). Alternatively, take bus line 39 from Oberstaufen or Immenstadt to the "Hündlebahn" stop (approximately a 4.2-kilometer walk). Bus transport is free with the Oberstaufen GÄSTEKARTE. A single bus fare without the card will cost approximately €3.

• Walking

  From the Hündlebahn parking lot, follow the signs towards Buchenegg Waterfalls. The walk is approximately 4.2 kilometers and takes about 55 minutes along the road, plus a 20-minute descent to the falls. The trail from the parking area to the waterfalls is steep and can be slippery, so wear appropriate footwear.
