Klibühni Chur is more than just a theatre; it's a cultural institution with a rich history rooted in the early 1970s. Facing Chur's cultural shortcomings of the time, bright minds decided to take action and established 'Das Theater' in 1974. What began as a summer program in the Zunfthaus on Kirchgasse has evolved into a year-round operation with performances held in various locations. The Klibühni is the second theatre in Chur after the Stadttheater. The Klibühni presents around 120 theatre performances, concerts, readings and children's theatre every year. The theatre is known for its diverse and engaging program, which includes its own productions and guest performances. The Klibühni also provides a stage for local artists. Every summer, the theatre opens the Höfli-Beiz, offering high-quality food and wine alongside an exciting cultural program. The Klibühni has made a name for itself with productions that regularly receive national attention. The Klibühni also played a key role in the creation of the Churer Fest. The Klibühni transferred the Churer Fest to other Chur associations in 1982.

Klibühni is located at Kirchgasse 14 in the heart of Chur's Old Town, which is largely pedestrianized. From most points in the Altstadt, it is easily reachable on foot. From Chur railway station, walk north along Bahnhofstrasse, then turn right onto Poststrasse. Continue onto Grabenstrasse, then turn left onto Kirchgasse. The Klibühni will be on your left. Walking time is approximately 10-15 minutes.

From Chur railway station, take any bus that stops at 'Chur, Malteser/Postautostation' or 'Chur, Grabenstrasse'. From either stop, it is a short walk to Kirchgasse.
