12 Days Private Tour in Madagascar
An intrepid journey!
On booking, Hajatiana Lionel organised every aspect of our wonderful journey with military precision. From the moment we were met at the airport to our departure. Our driver and companion was well informed and helped us feel that we were welcome guests in Madagascar rather than itinerant tourists. Some of our excursions required a fair degree of physical fitness/stamina. All rewarded us with spectacular views and equally spectacular flora and fauna. For us the lemurs and baobabs were merely a small, and amazing part of the overall experience. The roads were largely execrable and distances long. However travelling slowly suited us, for the scenery was just overwhelmingly beautiful. The small hamlets and villages fascinating. We chose to eat locally and the 'Hotelys' did not disappoint. For us hotels are merely places to sleep. Clean sheets, a shower and a simple breakfast were enjoyed at every stop. The icing on the cake was the wonderful 'café au lait' variants that came with each breakfast. Madagascan arabica coffee is up there with its Ethiopian and Kenyan counterparts. We chose not to spend too much time at the beach (we live by the sea). However the nights we did stay by the ocean suggested that this option would certainly not disappoint (sea food amazing). Overall, an amazing glimpse of parts of this huge and spectacular island. We left wanting more, wishing we had months rather than days in this wonderful country. Postscript. I think, weatherwise, arriving in early April was a stroke of luck. The rain in the rain forests was no deterrent!

Private 14-Day Classic Route Tour in Madagascar
Fabulous two week trip
A fantastic two weeks in Madagascar, organised by Emily. The hotels exceeded our expectations ( we went 3* , but many were way higher), food was great. We had just a driver, not a guide and driver, but as we got local guides in all the national parks that was fine. We had a party of three vegetarians and one vegan so after some initial discussions our driver called ahead to all our stops to make sure our diets were accommodated. The wild life was amazing, the journeys very long, but we knew that would be beforehand. We had plenty of breaks and the days were well organised so we had places to visit to break the journeys up. The visit to the local village and the long walk in Isalo national park were highlights. The guides on these two trips were excellent aswell. Even though we took mosquitoe protection none of us got any bites.

An amazing 11 day tour of southern Madagascar
My brother and I had a fantastic experience with Sudmadatrek creating a custom 11 day itinerary throughout South/Southwest Madagascar for us. Tiana was my contact throughout the booking and the entire trek. He was extremely helpful and communicative throughout the process and immediately answered any questions/concerns I had during the trip itself. The trek itself was fantastic and we got to see so many different flora, fauna, and landscapes during our almost 2-weeks in Madagascar. I really appreciated all the hard work that went into planning our trip and setting up all our lodgings and activities. Faly was our driver during the entire trip. He took great care of us and we really enjoyed the time we spent with him. He made several extra stops for us and took extra time to answer all our questions and explain lots about the local people and their customs. He always made sure we were comfortable at our lodgings and if we had any issues he immediately made them right. Last but not least I have to mention Xavier. We had an exceptional time with him during our three days hiking and camping in Isalo National Park. He took care of everything we needed and was a pleasure to talk to and kick back with after some long days of hiking. Also, Our cook/porter (I believe it was Modesta) made some amazing meals for us while we were camping in Isalo. Thanks again, for the great trip and letting us see so many parts of your beautiful country!
