From Atsinanana, head towards Ambatondrazaka. Follow Route Nationale 2 (RN2) for about 60 kilometers until you reach the town of Ambatondrazaka. Once in Ambatondrazaka, continue towards the east on Route Nationale 45 (RN45) for approximately 20 kilometers. Look for signs indicating Zahamena National Park as you approach the park entrance. Ensure your car is suitable for rural roads, as some areas may be unpaved. Note that you may need to pay a small fee for parking at the park entrance.

Public Transportation
From Atsinanana, take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) heading to Ambatondrazaka. The journey takes about 2 hours. Once you arrive in Ambatondrazaka, you'll need to find another taxi-brousse going towards Zahamena. This second leg of the trip may take around 30-45 minutes. Ensure you confirm with the driver that they will drop you off at or near the park entrance. Expect to pay for both taxi-brousse rides, which could total around 10,000 to 15,000 Ariary.
