Car
Start your journey from the nearest major town, Mulanje. Head west on the M1 highway towards Zomba. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach a sign for Williams Falls. Take the exit onto M842 and follow it for about 10 kilometers until you reach the intersection. At this point, you will need to park your car, as the remaining distance requires hiking.
Public Transportation
From Mulanje, take a minibus heading towards Zomba. This will cost you around 500 MWK (Malawian Kwacha). Inform the driver that you want to get off at the Williams Falls junction. After about 30 minutes, you will reach the junction where you need to disembark. From here, take a short walk along the M842 road towards the falls. Be prepared for a 2-kilometer hike which may take around 30-45 minutes based on your pace.
Hiking
After parking your car at the designated area near the intersection on M842, follow the trail that leads to Williams Falls. The path is well-marked, but be sure to wear good hiking boots as it can be uneven. The hike is approximately 2 kilometers and will take around 30-45 minutes. Enjoy the scenic views along the way, as you will be surrounded by lush vegetation and the sounds of nature.
