Car
If you are driving, head towards Liwonde National Park from Thyolo Highlands. Follow the main road (M1) north until you reach the junction for Liwonde, then take the turn-off that leads to the park. Continue on this road until you arrive at the entrance of Liwonde National Park. Mvuu Camp is located inside the park, so be prepared to pay an entrance fee, which is approximately MWK 10,000 for foreign visitors. Once inside, follow the signs to Mvuu Camp, which should take around 15-20 minutes. Make sure your vehicle is suitable for the park's road conditions, as some areas may be rough.
Public Transportation
To reach Mvuu Camp using public transportation, take a minibus from Thyolo to Liwonde. The minibuses depart regularly from the Thyolo bus station. The fare is approximately MWK 2,500. Once you arrive in Liwonde, you will need to take a taxi to the entrance of Liwonde National Park. The taxi fare should be around MWK 5,000 to MWK 10,000. Upon entering the park, you will have to pay the entrance fee of about MWK 10,000. After paying, you can ask for assistance at the entrance, or a park ranger can help guide you to Mvuu Camp, which is about a 15-20 minute ride from the entrance.
