If you are starting from the Kota Bharu Central Market (Pasar Besar Kota Bharu), exit the market and head southeast on Jalan Masjid towards Jalan Kebun Sultan. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Jalan Dato Pati. Turn left onto Jalan Dato Pati and walk for another 300 meters. You will see Istana Kota Lama on your right at D1, Bandar Kota Bharu, 15050 Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

From the Kota Bharu Bus Terminal, take the local bus heading towards Jalan Kebun Sultan. The bus will stop near the Kota Bharu Central Market. Disembark here and follow the walking directions as mentioned above, heading southeast on Jalan Masjid towards Jalan Kebun Sultan, then left onto Jalan Dato Pati to reach Istana Kota Lama.
