If you are staying in the city center of Kuching, start from the Sarawak River waterfront, which is a popular gathering point. Walk along the waterfront promenade until you reach the Main Bazaar Street. Continue walking on this street until you reach the intersection with Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. Turn right onto Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman and walk straight. After about 800 meters, you will see the Dewan Undangan Negeri Sarawak (Lama) on your left, located in Kampung Istana.

From the Kuching Sentral Bus Terminal, take a bus heading towards the city center. Look for buses that indicate 'Kuching City' or 'Kuching Waterfront'. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop near the waterfront. Once you disembark, follow the waterfront promenade to the Main Bazaar Street and then proceed to Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman as described in the walking directions above.
