Getting There

Walking
From the Harper's Ferry National Historical Park Visitor Center, head south on Shenandoah Street toward Potomac Street. Continue onto the footbridge that crosses the Potomac River. Once you reach the Maryland side, follow the path along the river until you reach the intersection with Route 34. Turn left onto Route 34 and continue walking for about 1.5 miles. You will eventually see signs for Antietam National Battlefield. The Visitor Center is located at 5831 Dunker Church Rd, just off Route 34.

If you have access to a bicycle, start at the Harper's Ferry National Historical Park Visitor Center and ride south on Shenandoah Street. Take the footbridge across the Potomac River, then follow the bike-friendly path along the Maryland side of the river. Once you reach Route 34, turn left and bike approximately 1.5 miles until you see the signs for Antietam National Battlefield. The Visitor Center is located at 5831 Dunker Church Rd, easily accessible from the road.
