Sunset Park: A Serene Oasis in Ocean City

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the Assateague Island National Seashore visitor center. Head northwest on MD-611 N for about 6 miles until you reach the intersection with US-50 E. Merge onto US-50 E and continue for approximately 12 miles. Take the exit toward Ocean City and merge onto Coastal Hwy (MD-528). Continue on Coastal Hwy for about 2 miles, then turn left onto S Philadelphia Ave. Sunset Park will be on your right at 700 S Philadelphia Ave. Note that parking is available nearby, but may incur a fee during peak seasons.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you can take the Ocean City Bus service from the Assateague Island National Seashore visitor center. Catch the Route 1 bus heading towards the Ocean City Boardwalk. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to 7th St and Coastal Hwy. From there, walk south along S Philadelphia Ave for about 10 minutes until you reach Sunset Park. Be sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time as service may vary.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can bike from the visitor center to Sunset Park. Take the scenic bike path along MD-611 N and then connect to the Coastal Hwy. The total distance is about 11 miles, and it will take approximately 1 hour to reach Sunset Park. Be cautious while biking along the highway and adhere to all local biking regulations.
