Getting There

  • Metro

    From Rockville Metro Station, board the Red Line train heading towards Glenmont. Stay on the train for 11 stops, which will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station. Transfer to the Yellow or Green Line and take the train towards Branch Ave or Greenbelt, respectively. Get off at the next stop, the Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter station. From there, exit the station and walk southeast on 7th St NW towards M St NW. Turn left on M St NW and walk for about 5 minutes until you reach 1518 M St NW, which is the Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church.

    From the Rockville Town Square, take the Ride On Bus Route 46 towards the Twinbrook Metro. After about 15 minutes and 8 stops, get off at the Twinbrook Metro Station. From there, board the Metro Red Line train towards Glenmont. After 11 stops (approximately 30 minutes), get off at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station. Transfer to the Yellow or Green Line towards Branch Ave or Greenbelt, respectively. Alight at the Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter station. Once at the Rockville Metro Station, follow the Metro directions as described above. If you prefer to walk from the Rockville Town Center to the Metropolitan AME Church, it is about a 20-mile walk, which might take several hours. It is advisable to use public transportation instead.
