From Boston, head to the North Station or South Station. Take the MBTA Commuter Rail on the Newburyport/Rockport Line towards Salem. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Salem Station, exit the station, and walk down Washington Street towards Derby Street. It’s approximately a 15-minute walk (0.7 miles). Turn left onto Derby Street, and you will find the Salem Maritime National Historic Site at 160 Derby St.

From Haymarket Station in Boston, take the MBTA Bus #450 towards Salem. The bus ride takes about 40 minutes. Get off at the Salem Town Hall stop. From there, walk down Washington Street, then turn left onto Derby Street. The Salem Maritime National Historic Site will be on your right at 160 Derby St.

From Long Wharf in Boston, take the ferry to Salem. The ferry ride takes about 50 minutes. Once you arrive at the Salem Ferry Terminal, exit and head towards Washington Street. Walk down Washington Street towards Derby Street, then turn left. The Salem Maritime National Historic Site is located at 160 Derby St, just a short walk from the ferry terminal.

If you are staying in downtown Salem, you can easily walk to the Salem Maritime National Historic Site. Start from the Salem Common and head southeast on Essex Street.
