Getting There

Bus
From Brockton, head to the Brockton MBTA Bus Terminal located at 1-11 Commercial St. Take the number 14 bus towards Mattapan Station. Ride for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Braintree Station. At Braintree Station, transfer to the Red Line train towards Alewife. Ride the train for about 20 minutes, then get off at the North Station. From there, you can take the commuter rail towards Lowell, and disembark at the Salem Station. The Salem Maritime National Historic Site is about a 15-minute walk from the train station. Head west on Washington St towards Derby St, then turn left on Derby St and walk until you reach 160 Derby St.

From the Brockton MBTA station, take the commuter rail on the Middleborough/Lakeville Line towards Boston. After about 25 minutes, transfer at the South Station. From here, switch to the Orange Line and head towards North Station. Once you arrive at North Station, transfer to the commuter rail line towards Lowell, and get off at the Salem Station. After exiting the station, walk west on Washington St towards Derby St, then take a left onto Derby St. Walk straight for about 0.7 miles until you reach 160 Derby St.

Bicycle
If you're comfortable cycling, you can rent a bike in Brockton. Start your ride from Downtown Brockton at the Brockton Public Library. Head north on Main St, then turn left onto Crescent St. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Route 18. Follow Route 18 north until you reach the junction with Route 107. Take a left turn onto Route 107 and follow the signs to Salem. Once you reach Salem, navigate towards Derby St, where the Salem Maritime National Historic Site is located at 160 Derby St. The ride should take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on your cycling speed.
