If you are starting from the Nantucket Memorial Airport, exit the airport and follow the signs to the bike path. Head south on the bike path for about a mile until you reach a T-intersection. Turn left onto Old South Road and continue walking for approximately 1.5 miles until you reach the center of town, where you will find the Downtown Historic District.
