    If you are near the New Bedford Whaling Museum, head northeast on William Street towards Union Street. Turn right onto Union Street and continue until you reach the intersection with Purchase Street. Turn left onto Purchase Street and follow it until you reach the end at the waterfront. From there, turn right onto the waterfront path, which will lead you to the ferry terminal. Take the ferry to Newport, Rhode Island. Once you arrive at the Newport ferry terminal, exit and walk straight on America's Cup Avenue, then turn left onto Thames Street. The Museum of Newport History & Shop will be on your right at 127 Thames St.

    From New Bedford, head to the nearby bus station at 134 Union Street. Take the Peter Pan bus heading to Newport, RI. The bus ride will take approximately an hour. Once you arrive at the Newport bus terminal, exit and walk straight on America’s Cup Avenue, then turn left onto Thames Street. Continue walking straight for a few blocks, and you will find the Museum of Newport History & Shop located at 127 Thames St on your right.
