Public Transit
If you're starting from downtown Waltham, head to the Waltham MBTA Commuter Rail Station. Take the Fitchburg Line train towards North Station. Get off at the Alewife Station. From Alewife, transfer to the Alewife bus (route 67) towards Alewife Station (Cambridge). Get off at the stop at Alewife and take the 47 bus towards Alewife Station. Get off at the stop at Fresh Pond Parkway, then walk towards the Brattle Street. The Longfellow House will be on your left at 105 Brattle Street.

Walking
If you're near Waltham Common, head east towards Main Street. Walk along Main Street until you reach the intersection with Waverley Oaks Road. Turn left on Waverley Oaks Road and continue until you reach the Waltham MBTA Commuter Rail Station. From there, take the Fitchburg Line train towards North Station. Disembark at Alewife Station, then follow the public transit directions above to reach the Longfellow House.

Bicycling
If you prefer biking, start from Waltham Common and head east along Main Street. Follow the bike lanes to Waverley Oaks Road. Continue straight until you reach the Alewife Greenway. Follow the path along the Greenway, which will connect you to the Alewife Station area. From there, follow the bus directions stated earlier to arrive at the Longfellow House.
