Note that the last stretch of road (around 8 km) is unpaved and may require a 4x4 vehicle. Ensure you have enough fuel, and check your vehicle before embarking on this journey.

To reach Zona Arqueológica de Yaxchilán using public transportation, first take a bus or colectivo (shared taxi) from San Cristóbal de las Casas to the town of Lacanjá Chansayab.
