Public Bus
From the center of Oaxaca, head to the 'Central de Abastos' bus terminal located on Avenida de la Independencia. Look for buses heading to Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán. The fare is inexpensive, usually around 10-15 pesos. After about 30 minutes, get off at the stop for El Tequio Park, which is near the entrance of the park. Ensure to ask the driver to notify you when you reach the park stop.
Shared Taxi (Sitio Taxi)
If you prefer a quicker option, you can take a shared taxi (known as 'sitio taxi') from the center of Oaxaca. Head to a sitio taxi stand, typically located near the Zócalo. Inform the driver that you want to go to El Tequio Park in Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán. The ride should take around 20-25 minutes and will cost about 50-70 pesos per person, depending on how many passengers are in the taxi.
Walking
For the adventurous, you can walk to El Tequio Park. Starting from the Zócalo in Oaxaca, head southeast on Calle de la Independencia. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida de la Independencia. Turn left and continue walking until you reach the Central de Abastos. From there, follow the same route as the public bus by walking towards Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán. The total walking distance is approximately 8 km and may take about 1.5 to 2 hours, so be prepared with water and wear comfortable shoes.
