From anywhere in Playa del Carmen, head to the nearest ADO bus station or look for a collectivo stand. Collectivos are shared vans that take passengers to various destinations. Find a collectivo heading towards Tulum. The fare is usually around 30-50 pesos. Once you board, enjoy the scenic ride for about 20-30 minutes. Request the driver to drop you off at the intersection for Cenote Esmeralda, which is near the entrance to the cenote.

After being dropped off at the intersection, walk approximately 10-15 minutes down the dirt road. Look for signs leading to Cenote Esmeralda. The path may be unpaved, so wear comfortable shoes. Enjoy the lush surroundings as you approach the cenote.
