Getting There

  • Collective Taxi

    From your location in Playa del Carmen, walk to the nearest colectivo taxi stop, which is usually located along Avenida 5. Look for a white van that has 'Puerto Morelos' written on it. Colectivos leave when they are full, so you may have to wait a short while. The fare to Puerto Morelos is typically around 30-50 pesos. Once you arrive in Puerto Morelos, get off at the main square (Zocalo), which is a central point. From there, walk towards the beach and continue on Rafael E. Melgar street until you reach Mercado de Artesanías Puerto Morelos.

  • Bus

    Head to the ADO bus terminal in Playa del Carmen, located at Avenida 20 and Calle 12. Purchase a ticket to Puerto Morelos; buses run frequently throughout the day. The bus ride is about 30 minutes. When you arrive in Puerto Morelos, exit the bus and walk straight towards the beach. Head left on Rafael E. Melgar street. The Mercado de Artesanías will be on your left side as you approach the beach, just a short walk from the bus stop.
