Getting There

Walking
Starting from the center of Downtown Playa del Carmen, head towards Avenida 5 Norte. This is one of the main streets lined with shops and cafes. Walk north along Avenida 5 Norte until you reach the intersection with Calle 12. Turn right onto Calle 12 and continue until you reach the beach area. Once you reach the coastline, turn left and walk along the beach promenade. The Playa del Carmen Lighthouse is situated directly on the beach, and you will see it as you approach the water.

Bicycle
If you prefer to ride a bicycle, you can rent one from any of the local rental shops in Downtown Playa del Carmen. Once you have your bicycle, head to Avenida 5 Norte and ride north until you reach Calle 12. Turn right onto Calle 12 and continue to the beach area. Once you reach the beach, turn left and ride along the promenade until you arrive at the Playa del Carmen Lighthouse.

Public Transportation (Collectivo)
While you are very close to the Playa del Carmen Lighthouse, if you happen to be further away in the Downtown area, you can take a 'collectivo' (shared van) to get closer. Head to the nearest collectivo stop and get on one heading towards the beach. Once you get off, walk towards the beach and follow the promenade to the left until you see the Playa del Carmen Lighthouse. Note that the fare for a collectivo is typically around $10 MXN.
